Approximately 4,300 people participated in the convention named "Katori Oda Edo Marathon", competing for the healthy legs on four courses running from the 1 kilometer to the 10 kilometer with starting the torii of Katori Shrine .

Okinawa along the Onogawa River course and Katori Kaido dotted the old streets of the Edo period, and the participants were running through while enjoying the landscape leaving the side of Edo.

In addition, a costume award was also set up in the competition, and runners who disguised as a character such as Santa Claus and animated movie raised the tournament.

A man in his 40s who participated from Itako-ken Itako-shi said, "The streets along the Onogawa are nice, I imagined Suigo Sahara and ran with the costume of a ship's wife married."

A woman in her 40s who joined from Sumida-ku, Tokyo, said, "I have a family home near the Katori Shrine at the starting point and I am visiting on the occasion to participate in the marathon."
