The country and JR Hokkaido have strengthened the policy to conduct test driving to raise the maximum speed in the Seikan tunnel by the Hokkaido Shinkansen. If safety is confirmed, the time required to spend more than 4 hours between Tokyo and Shin Hakodate Hokuto is expected to be shortened to three hours even in the coming year.
