オスプレイ墜落から1週間 今後遺体の収容と機体の引き揚げへ | NHK | オスプレイ

先月29日、8人が搭乗したアメリカ空軍の輸送機「オスプレイ」が屋久島沖に墜落した事故で、アメリカ空軍の特殊作戦司令部は今月5日、声明を発表し、生存が見込まれないとして、すでに死亡が確認された1人を含む8人全員の死亡を認定し、乗員の救助から遺体の収容に活動を移行したことを明らかにしました。

現場海域では、6日までに乗員6人の遺体が収容されていて、海上保安庁などが残る2人の捜索を続けています。

また、屋久島沖で見つかった機体の一部とみられる複数の残骸は、日米地位協定に基づいてアメリカ軍に引き渡されていて、今後、現場では事故原因の究明などに不可欠な機体の主要部分の引き揚げが進められるものとみられます。

It is expected that the recovery of the essential parts of the aircraft, crucial for investigating the cause of the accident, will continue at the site in the future.
