IOC＝国際オリンピック委員会は29日、パリで理事会を開き、今後の冬のオリンピック・パラリンピックの候補地について2030年はフランスのアルプス地域、2034年は、アメリカのソルトレークシティーにそれぞれ一本化することを決めました。両大会をめぐっては、札幌市が招致を目指してきましたが、おととし夏の東京大会をめぐる汚職・談合事件の影響などで市民の理解が広がらず、2030年大会は事実上、招致断念に追い込まれ、2034年大会も極めて厳しいと見られていました。
