ネットでは発表前から「今年の漢字」を予想する投稿が相次いでいます。
目立ったものをいくつか紹介します。

『税』
インボイス制度など税に関わる制度が変わったことや、インターネットなどで広まった「増税メガネ」という岸田首相の呼び方をあげて「税」を予想する人が多くみられました。

『暑』
ことしは6月から8月の夏の平均気温が気象庁が統計を取り始めてからの125年間で最も高く、「異常な暑さだった」「不要不急の外出は控えて、というほどの酷暑が印象に残る」などと「暑」をあげる声もありました。

『高』
インフレによる物価高や値上げによる影響を受けたという声が目立ったほか、気温が高い日が続いたことから多くの人がこの漢字をあげていました。

『虎』
阪神タイガースがプロ野球で38年ぶりの日本一に輝いたことを受けてこの漢字を予想する声も多く、「タイガースには参りました」といった声もありました。
